Biological Dentistry 101

A biological dentist emphasizes the importance of the cause-and-effect relationship between a patient’s oral health and their overall physical health. By contrast, a traditional dentist focuses on treating only the symptoms the patient is experiencing instead of looking for underlying problems that are causing the symptoms. A biological dentist treats the patient holistically while a traditional dentist treats the patient symptomatically.

Once the cause of disease is discovered and treated, a biological dentist can develop a holistic treatment plan that not only benefits your oral health, but your physical health as well.

A biological dentist studies the mouth in order to determine the effects it’s causing to the health of the whole body and mind, especially our immune system, which is particularly vulnerable to becoming weakened by the effect of toxins being delivered into the body through the mouth. Diseases in the body become exposed when the effects of all those toxins become too great for the body to fight any longer.

The current downfall to traditional dentistry is the belief that the body is healed once the symptoms are no longer seen, but that application fails to uncover the underlying health problems that caused the symptoms to appear in the first place. Eliminating the symptom is not the same as eliminating the disease and removing the cause of disease from the mouth and body.

Until recently it wasn’t accepted that mercury and silver amalgam fillings were the cause of many illnesses affecting the human body, however, biological practitioners have always known that the body’s physical health is a reflection of what goes in the mouth. An off-balance dysfunction in one area will eventually show up as disease in another area of the body.

A biological dentist can successfully treat people who have been damaged by traditional dental practitioners, albeit unknowingly. The biological dentist evaluates patients by:

  • Searching for areas of potential infection: gum health, tooth strength and previous extraction sites
  • Replacing amalgam and mercury fillings with non-toxic materials
  • Analyzing the effects created when different metals in the mouth cause excessive disturbances leading to “the battery effect”.

The highest priority for a biological dentist is heavy metal removal. Heavy metals have a devastating effect on the immune system and neurological health. Heavy metal toxicity is proven to have links to Autism, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and many other diseases. Fillings leak toxins into the whole body every time you swallow food and water. They become especially dangerous when they’re loosened or broken.

Once the cause of disease is discovered and treated, a biological dentist can develop a holistic treatment plan that not only benefits your oral health, but your physical health as well.
