One of the worst things you can do to your mouth is subject it to a root canal. Traditional dentists will tell you that a root canal is an important surgery done to help save a tooth and eliminate bacteria and infection. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our Approach to Dentistry
The basis of biological / holistic dentistry is that everything in your body is connected to everything else. Our bodies run as an intricate, coordinated system. When we are healthy our bodies are much more resistant to dental disease. And conversely, when a person is not healthy, they will be more prone to disease and dental disease is just one of them. A biological dentist works with YOU to improve everything in the body by improving your teeth…. specifically the microcirculation, lymphatic function, blood flow, oxygenation, and the health of the bone and supportive structures. Our primary approach is aimed specifically at connecting the dots with the rest of the body and looking beyond the traditional “one tooth” approach as we improve your dental health, and thus your overall health. And, we always opt for the least invasive and least toxic methods of diagnosis and treatment. All that combined with the latest technology, most up-to-date training, modern facility, and a doctor and staff that are caring and loyal.

Treatment Plan Approach
It is our philosophy to get to know one another and be on the same page before we begin any treatment. We start with our complimentary Acquaintance Appointment, during which time the doctor will visit with each patient and discuss medical and dental histories, diet and lifestyle, and chief complaint(s). The doctor will also explain how biological dentistry is different, and why it is so important for you, and how it can best serve you right now. Once we agree to proceed forward, we will begin the examination and treatment planning process.
We recognize that not everyone has the need to go to this level of depth initially, so we have a customized approach to determine how thorough an examination you will need. Obviously, if you have a lot of dental work in your mouth, have had crowns, root canals, or teeth pulled, you will need to spend more time to diagnose what is important. After your comprehensive exam, we can make recommendations for you and your needs. A timeline for treatment will also be provided. The plan might be simple and include a single visit, or might require a few months of treatment.
An acquaintance appointment can also be scheduled to include a comprehensive exam, or they can be completed in two separate visits. During the comprehensive exam, the following areas are covered:
- Digital x-rays, both panoramic and full mouth detail
- Muscle examination
- TMJ Exam (Tempromandibular Joint)
- Oral cancer and soft tissue (Gum) Exam
- Plaque and bleeding Index
- Voltage reading
- Pressure sensitivity test
- Evaluation of tooth wear
- Evaluation of tooth mobility
- Digital intra-oral photographs
- Tongue conditions
Through this process, you and the doctor will gain a deeper understanding of what conditions are present in your mouth, and how your body relates to these conditions. Once the Comprehensive Exam is complete, a written treatment plan will be presented to you, and it will include:
- Any preliminary requirements prior to the work
- How many visits you will need for optimal health
- How long each visit will be
- What will happen during each visit
- The estimated cost
- Setting goals for your health, and your teeth
We invite you to give us a call to set up your complimentary acquaintance appointment, meet the doctor, the staff, and learn more about what biological dentistry can do for you!! 719-597- 5900
